Aesthetic use of Botox (wrinkle treatment)
Botox’s ability to inhibit muscle activity has made it very popular in aesthetic medicine. Botox blocks the release of a neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contractions. Wrinkles and lines can be reduced or even completely smoothed out through targeted injections of Botox into specific facial muscles.
Among the most common applications of Botox in cosmetic medicine are the treatment of wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyes (frown lines), and in the area of the laugh lines (crow’s feet). A precisely tailored dose of Botox is injected directly into these areas. This inhibits muscle activity, leading to the smoothing of wrinkles. Results are usually visible after a few days and last for several months.
As mentioned earlier, the effects of Botox begin to appear after about 7 to 14 days and last for several months. The treatment is generally low-risk—but only when administered properly and correctly. Dr. Schmidt, a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery, is an expert in facial aesthetics. In addition, with her additional qualification in facial plastic surgery, she possesses the necessary expertise and experience in the use of Botox for aesthetic-medical purposes.
Dental use of Botox (Therapeutic)
At Zahnkultur Berlin, we use Botox specifically to treat various dental issues. This includes, in particular, excessive teeth grinding, also known as bruxism. Injecting Botox into the chewing muscles reduces muscle activity. This relaxation usually leads to a decrease in teeth grinding.
In addition, Botox can also be used to treat temporomandibular joint disorders such as temporomandibular joint syndrome. A targeted injection of Botox into the affected muscles relieves muscle tension and helps reduce pain and stiffness in the temporomandibular joint.
Botox also has further applications in dentistry for excessively visible gums, known as a “gummy smile.” By injecting Botox into the upper lip muscles, we reduce muscle activity. This makes the gums less visible and creates a more harmonious smile.
Please note that the use of Botox in dentistry should be performed by a specialized physician, as this requires specific expertise and experience. An accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment plan are crucial for achieving optimal results and, above all, for minimizing potential risks.
If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment—including for a consultation—we’re here to help! Dr. Dr. Schmidt would be happy to consult with you!

Our hyaluronic acid treatments:
Nasolabial folds: Smoothing of the lines that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth. Hyaluronic acid can be used to fill these folds, resulting in a smoother appearance.
Marionette lines: These lines run from the corners of the mouth to the chin and can make the face look tired or sad. Hyaluronic acid can correct these lines and restore facial volume.
Forehead wrinkles: Pronounced wrinkles on the forehead caused by repeated muscle movements can be treated with hyaluronic acid to achieve a smoother appearance.
Lips: Fine lines around the mouth, also known as smoker’s lines or barcode lines, can be treated with hyaluronic acid to smooth and rejuvenate the lip area.
Neck and décolletage wrinkles: Wrinkles in the neck and décolletage area can also be treated with hyaluronic acid to improve skin texture.
Skin quality: With targeted use of hyaluronic acid, skin texture can be improved and collagen production stimulated.
The major advantage of hyaluronic acid filler treatments: The treatment is very well tolerated, the results look fresh immediately, and you can return to social activities right away.
